Is it a solid surface? I need a board to go under a memory foam mattress. The board cannot have spaces like slats where the foam would fall into.

Asked by: dale
No, it is not solid. It has wood slats that are more than 7 inches apart with material over them.

Most California king box springs measure 71x83 so they fit within the bed frame and under the mattress. I'm worried this won't fit my cal king frame?

Asked by: Natalie
It fit my Cal King frame perfectly, but I did buy the frame from Living Spaces.

Would this be okay to put under a boxspring to raise the overall height of the mattress in an upholstered bed?

Asked by: Calgal
Yes, that would work.

Eastern King Bunkie board set

Can this board be used between a box Spring and the mattress to not only provide additional support but also raise the mattress a couple of inches?
Asked by: RebeccaJ
It would be redundant to add a bunky board in between a foundation and mattress. It will only add 2 inches of height, and a regular foundation is already 9"H and is designed to provide enough support.

Does this have cardboard or metal ?

Is this a solid piece of wood or slatted pieces of wood?
Asked by: Batya
I purchased a king bunky board set assuming it was a solid wood top but what arrived is actually wood slats wrapped in a heavy fabric. There might be a thin cardboard layer under the fabric, but it's hard to tell. The slats are 6-7 inches apart.

Does this bunky board provide adequate ventilation for a memory foam mattress?

Asked by: Saradeeze
Typically, ventilation on a memory foam mattress is a type of mattress topper. The bunky board would be placed under the mattress, which would not affect ventilation. Using a bunky board is also dependent on your bed frame. If your bed frame has only six or less loose slats, then a standard box spring is required for mattress support. If you have more than six slats on your bed frame, a bunky board is optional.

do these require assembly? Some show you have to put fabric over boards yourself.
Asked by: kuvegas
The Sage Eastern King Bunk Board Set does not require any assembly.

Customer Reviews
KIT-SAGE EASTERN KING BUNKY BOARD SET is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT SOLID WOOD! We purchased a Cal King Bunky Board along with a Cal King Diamond Low Profile Foundation Set. We have a foam mattress that requires a solid platform or wooden slats no more than 3 inches apart in order for the warranty to remain valid. That is why we purchased the Bunky Board. I specifically asked the salesman if the Bunky Board was solid wood, because the Low Profile Foundation would not be sufficient. He said it definitely was solid wood. So, when it was delivered, we discovered that it indeed was NOT solid wood and that it had slats that were more than 7 inches apart, rendering it useless to us. The salesman did mention several times that once this was purchased, we would not be able to return it. He really stressed that point. That was $150 down the drain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great base foundation! I like this product. I was a bit hesitant at first but the product does work really well if you want a low profile look to your bed. It’s a very sturdy foundation. I highly recommend this product.
