Will the Sage Full & Twin Bunky Boards go with the Varsity Cherry Twin/Full Loft W/Desk & Stairway

I currently have only the wood slats on each the twin and full, but wondering if adding the bunky board would add more support, and could the board be added directly on top of the wood slats
Asked by: ericruano
Yes and yes!!!

Will this product work without slats?

Bought a hybrid mattress from living spaces a year ago but the heavy weight broke the slats that came with the frame. Will the bunky board support the weight of a heavy mattress and two people without slats?
Asked by: Ccollins
The bed I used it on has a frame for the slats on the sides. The bunky board lays on the frame rather than the slats. The slats are still there for additional support. I am not sure if this answers your question although it seemed pretty sturdy.

Assembly required?

Hi, I'd like to pick one up rather than having it delivered, so I'd like to know: is it one large board/piece or 2 pieces that need to be put together? Thanks
Asked by: Michelle
Queen size was one piece. Fit on top of my car. I tied it on and drove slow. The store is not allowed to tied it to your car- I think for insurance reasons but they do supply rope for it.

Use with standard metal bed frame?

Could you use this product between a mattress and standard metal bed frame as a replacement for a boxspring?
Asked by: JenMart
Yes- That was my sole purpose. Make sure you measure the frame and compare it to the board. The one I purchased was a perfect fit. The bed frame is wood and our concern was that it would not reach the edges of the bed where there is solid support rather than lie on the cross boards. We used it o reduce the height of the bed and it worked perfectly. I had never heard of this bunky board until we purchased a bed with drawers under it for my son. If he had a regular box spring the bed would have been chest high for me. I have now bought a second one for my mother because she is elderly and her bed is too high to be comfortable getting in or out. She has noticed no difference between the board and the box spring.

What is the weight

Queen 2 inch high Bunky board
Asked by: Rulinda
Don't know but it was an easy carry for my husband and I . It was easier to carry than a mattress or box spring , lighter and not bulky

Does it come in one rigid piece or can it be folded in halves for easy of loading into a minivan?

Asked by: David
It is one rigid piece. I tied it to the roof of my car, (Tahoe). It was the queen size. The store for insurance reasons will not tie any furniture to your car although they will supply the rope. I did not have to travel very far so I was comfortable with that.

Can this be used for the trundle bed?

We are considering memory foam mattresses for a twin bed with trundle. Would you recommend this for the bottom, top, both parts, or we won't need it? 2yr old will sleep on top and 9yr old on the bottom.
Asked by: Josette
Bunky board is good for kid's beds because it lowers the height of the bed if the mattress is not greater than 9 inches. I think that is their only purpose because not as functional as a standard box spring. Having said that, it suffices for support of any mattress on kid's beds. Although, memory foam is really heavy and does not have springs so I do not know. I would guess if kid is less than 80 lbs all is good for support. Trundles with solid bottoms or tight springs usually provide enough support for a good mattress. No need for bunky, but again the issue is lack of springs on memory foam, so do not know. Anyone else have this configuration???

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great price! This was exactly what we needed for our mattress. It’s not too high up on our bed so we love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, sturdy bunky board! We had purchased an IKEA bed for our daughter and the wood slats eventually gave out. We decided to purchase this bunky board and it totally did the trick!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Board! This is a great platform before setting your mattress onto a platform bed. Super durable and great material. We are very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Space Saver This is the second Bunky board I've purchased this year. They work beautifully on beds with thick mattresses making the beds too tall to get into safely and conveniently. Perfect solution and have had no issues with either board.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Bunky Board My wife and I purchased a day bed from Living Spaces and needed a bunky board to insert between the day bed's wooden slats and our mattress (and to avoid feeling the slats while lying down). The bunky board is decent for the price, but make sure your mattress is over 8 inches thick to avoid feeling the wooden slats of the bunky board itself!
