Really black?
Photos don’t show a true black? What color is it? Dark gray?
It's a beautiful black stain. You can see some of the grain coming through. I would not call this a dark brown or a dark gray. It is a stained black piece.

Great Desk !
A perfect desk. Well made, solid wood. Real wood grain (not vinyl). The drawers have a drop down front so your keyboard is hidden and also at the correct height.

Terrible
Overall terrible desk and shopping experience. First, the design is flawed in so many ways. The desk way too tall in general, and you can't compensate for it by adjusting your chair higher because the drawers are also too tall and your legs hit the bottom of the drawers before you can get your chair high enough. I am 5'6" and I feel like a toddler sitting at an adult table. Second, the color is dark/medium brown. Not black/brown, not black stain, just dark/medium brown. It's blah. Third, delivery was delayed by over a week and the desk arrived damaged. I did not see the damage until I already assembled the desk and hauled it up to the third floor. I hate this desk.
