#1 All-Natural, All-Organic

When prepping your home, it can be easy to focus on the tried-and-true (think soft pastels, fresh florals and colorful Easter eggs – all of which put the “pretty” into the holiday’s decor). Along with the fun aesthetics, though, Easter is all about reflecting the feelings of refreshment and renewal that come with the season. One of the hottest trends for the year ahead, furniture – like dining tables, coffee tables and case goods – in earthy, toned-down neutrals deliver a fresh organic feel, and provide the perfect canvas for “pops” of pastel decor. Swapping out artificial colors and textures for distressed, unrefined surfaces offers effortlessly chic style – without losing the organic, renewing feel that makes this time of year so special.

#2 Warm Undertones

Easter decoration ideas wouldn’t make much sense if they didn’t feel comfy, inviting and like home. While a light and airy palette is the hallmark of Easter style, warmer colors make for a cozier ambiance. For an aesthetic that feels just as relaxed and lived-in as it does bright and chirpy, don’t be afraid to incorporate heavier neutrals into a breezy pastel color scheme – just make sure to keep the heavier colors closer to the floor. An area rug, for example, in brown or grey is an excellent way to ground and warm a space while preparing it for more refreshing accents.

#3 Neutral Eggs

“Tone” (a mixture of any color + grey), “tint” (a mixture of any color + white) and “shade” (a mixture of any color + black) are some of the hottest design buzzwords you can expect to hear this spring. But when it comes to incorporating them into your space, don’t let the confusing jargon get in the way; to stay on the all-natural, all-organic trend of 2024, just remember that the elements which take up the most space (think: tables, rugs, walls) should be kept in year-round neutral finishes. How to add a jovial Easter touch to a neutral color plan? Opt for decor that is easy to switch in and out – like pillows, dyed eggs and wall art – in soft, springtime neutral pastels.

Nothing says Easter decor – and the rejuvenating, renewing feelings that come with the season – like a wreath of fresh tulips or other spring flower; place together two wreaths, each of the same design and color but different heights, on a front door setting or hallway wall for a chic take on a classic staple.

#5 CHIC-ster Brunch

Whether you’re planning on feasting outdoors or in, give Easter brunch a chic makeover with on-trend tabletop decor; think place settings, egg cups and bird's nests full of faux flowers. You can also create a buffet-style set-up with various place cards for guests to customize their meal, away from the main dining space. Lots of greenery + napkin rings with pops of color.

#6 Carrots and Baskets

Easter baskets aren’t just for the little ones anymore; and filling them to the brim with plastic eggs and candy isn’t the only way to style them. Just the right amount of rustic-meets-chic, placing decorative baskets with handcrafted carrots around the house – on a coffee table here, a kitchen counter there – brings a light simplicity perfect for a sophisticated Easter aesthetic.

#7 Bedroom Buoyancy

Because it is out of the way, the bedroom is most often the most neglected room of the house – but it is precisely because it is out the of the way that it gives you a little more freedom to experiment with color! Bedroom decor is especially helpful as a testing ground for when you are considering ‘going bold’ with a particular shade in the living room or dining room, but are not quite yet sure how your color choices will play out.
