How is the surface of the Mateo Blue Desk with USB finished? Is it a painted surface or veneer? Will I need a desk pad to avoid indentations from writing or a coaster to protect it from water rings?

Absolute Garbage
It says no assembly required but you do have to put the drawer knobs on but it would’ve helped to have had the correct screws for it. It came with 2. One was too short and one was too long. The back of the desk is unfinished so unless you’re putting against the wall it will be an eyesore. The work on it is sloppy, wood chipped and uneven in some areas. Don’t pay to have them bring it in the house because they just put it in the house and leave without at least taking the “assembled” product out and taking the box with them. Worthless and useless and since it was boxed up I didn’t realize it was the wrong color until I opened it up but they already left. I could’ve saved $20.

Poorly made desk
I bought two of them but was very disappointed. Wrong hardwares included and could not add the pulls. Scratches and dirty spots on the surface. One desk must have been a displayed item. The other came with poor assembly. The one of the supporting wood pieces was not put straight so the drawers look uneven.

Disappointing
I bought this desk. It had everything I wanted. In the photos, the back of the desk is finished. The back of the desk I received is not finished. Silver screws and staples are visible all across the desk.
