Types of Extension Designs
The main types of table extensions are as follows:
- The Traditional Extension: This classic extension unit acts as an “insert;” when the dining table itself is split into two, the extension can be placed in the middle to create a longer design.
- The Drop Leaf Extension: This type of extension involves hinged joints on either end of the dining table. Pushing down on the hinged end will cause it to give and ‘drop down,’ creating a smaller table size. To revert back to the “normal” size, simply bring the hinges up so that they are aligned at the same level as the table's surface, and they will automatically lock in place!
