Does this bed frame with storage drawers need a mattress foundation? The photos of the frame with and without the drawers looked different.L
No it doesn't need a foundation!

What are the dimensions of the drawers
Two drawers, same size.... 36" wide, 8" down and they go
back 21" deep toward the center of the bed.

Is the head board mattress detachable? Can the bed do w/ and wout head board?
Can the frame be detached from the head board?
The headboard on the Livingston Eastern King Storage Bed is detachable and will not compromise the stability of this bed frame if not attached. Please note, the headboard is attached by two pillars at the top of the frame and will be visible if headboard is not attached. Additionally, any change from original construction of this piece will void warranty.

The product detail suggests having an 18 in mattress but does not say how high the platform is.

Amazing, Modern, and Super Functional!
We purchased the king size bed, nightstands, and media console. We finally have a bedroom that is relaxing, stylish, and a place we love to hang out in! We debated on whether we buy the media console or the dresser, but finally decided to get the media console. It's perfect!
Another fantastic feature is the nightstands all have power outlets installed inside the top drawer. Unbelievable how this simple little feature completely hides clutter. I love it!

LOVING The New Bed
We decided to graduate from a queen to a king because we have 3-4 dogs who sleep with us. A queen just wasn't cutting it anymore. We browsed several times but always came back to the Livingston collection. It's rustic, low maintenance and beautiful to look at. The bed is everything we wanted, functional (the drawers), comfortable and spacious. The only negative would be the "skirt" around the platform. It can be awkward to get into until you get used to it, but it would not keep me from buying it again. LOVE IT!!

This thing is so heavy
We went around the store shaking beds looking for something sturdy and boy did we find it. When we got it to our house to set it up it felt impossible to move, everything felt like 100lbs. Be ready for a work out and have a few friends help you.
