Would this tip if a toddler climbs on top?

I have an autistic 4 year old that always climbs on our tables. He is 50 pounds. Would the table tip if he is on the edge with the base of the table being in the middle? Thank you.
Asked by: Brandibella
Hello! It won't tip over but the boards will definitely separate as mine did, and I have only had it for two yrs.

Material

Hi, What type of wood is this made from? We purchased this last week and the salesman recommended that we put on a coat of baby oil. Want to make sure this won't ruin the surface?
Asked by: Trackside2
Did the salesman say why you should put baby oil on it? If you are looking to protect the wood I recommend putting a coat of polyurethane on it. If you are looking to just maintain it, simple wood oil like Murphy's or Old English would be best.

Is the base hollow?

We are looking to buy this piece as an office table. We would need to drill a hole through the top to loop phone and computer chords through. Is the base of this table hollow or solid wood?
Asked by: BRSV
The center of the table is hollow. You should have no problem.

Would this table wear well outside in Phoenix under patio?

Asked by: Kd44
It should be fine as long as it doesn't get wet. It may fade if exposed to direct sun light.

Top surface

Is this wood porous? Since the top is uneven, how do you clean it? Is the wood sealed?
Asked by: Mplsgirl92
It is rough and porous - there are even holes from nails. It had a tag that said it was made of reclaimed wood from palettes. That said, it does seem like it was sealed with something as it feels somewhat smooth and water resistant. Cleaning it is not as easy as a smooth table but it's still possible to wipe it off.

KIT-TAHOE II 89 INCH DINING TABLE is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tahoe II Dining Table This table is gorgeous! Love that it’s made of reclaimed wood. It’s perfectly imperfect- with nail holes, here and there. It’s a sleek, rustic farmhouse table that seats plenty of people and is perfect for entertaining.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice, But The table looks great and I really love it. We are using in my office at work for now, but plan on using it to as part of a display at our trade show booth. I think it is going to make a great addition as far as look. The table is extremely light and VERY easy to put together. The delivery was quick and the guys assembling it were in an out fast. My biggest issue with it is that it feels like I could get a splinter on it. I feel like if I were to put my elbows on the table while sitting and move the wrong way, I could get a piece of wood stuck inside me. I just have to be careful. I would have been nice to have some sort of clear finish over the wood or something. Lastly, the table isn't very balanced or sturdy. I set a purse down on the edge and put my arm down to lean on it as I was talking to someone, and table tiled a little. I felt like I was falling. It might have been nicer if the base was maybe a little heavier to keep it more grounded. Overall, I am still very happy with this items as it looks great, it's lightweight (moveable), has a lot of table space and for the right price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great statement piece This table adds so much character to our living room, which is the first room that people encounter when they walk in our door. We love the texture and colors of the reclaimed wood. It's a bit rough on the surface but appears to be coated or polished with something to make it smoother and somewhat water resistant. We get lots of compliments on it and it can seat alot of people if you go with the benches. I knew we wanted a reclaimed wood table and chose this one mostly for the pedestal base that works great with benches (no table legs to obstruct any seating configuration).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful table... but My table wobbled from the moment it was delivered. I have to go through warranty to get something fixed which was delivered and set up offset.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Looks fantastic. Matches my existing chairs as well as my Greyish flooring. There are rough spots which is how it’s supposed to look. I’d recommend using placemats as I’m not sure if it would soak in a spill, and I don’t want to chance it.
