I'm not sure what you mean by "back side. However, I can confirm that the trundle is easy to pull out on hardwood floors. I don't know about carpets, though--my suspicion is that it would be harder.

I am considering this bed. I recently down sized my living space and need a smaller bed. I do have two questions though.
1. Is there enough room on the shelf side to tuck in blankets on the side?
2. I am in my 40's. I see alot of reviews for kids and teens. Is this age appropriate?
There is plenty of storage underneath. I think the bed will work for anyone regardless of age.

Can the pull out trundle accommodate 10 inches thick mattress?
I measured the trundle depth--it's about 7-8 inches deep. So probably not, unfortunately.

Can we use a box spring?
I understand that the description says we don't need a box spring. My question is whether we can still use one, or if there is something in the construction of the bed that would prevent using a box spring under the mattress. Thank you.
You could, but it would make it too tall. The mattress would cover the shelves of the headboard.

Does this roomsaver bed come in an extra long twin size??
My 11 year old son is already 5'7" and is going to be tall. We like your choices and prices but there don't seem to be many offered in extra long twin size.
The Sedona Twin Captains Trundle and the Sedona Full Captains Trundle are both 80.3 inches. A standard twin and a standard full mattress are both 75 inches in length. A 'long-twin' and a queen sized mattress are both 80 inches in length. The bed says it is 80.3" total leaving 0.3 inches for a long-twin. Probably too close to call.

Kids bed
We looked into this bed for my daughter . She is growing very fast. We thought that the book case attached to the bed was great for all her books. It fit the space very well and it looks great! she is very happy with her room.

I did like the bed. But it wasn't practical because I couldn't use the bottom bed at all. There was no way to pull/push it in and out when needed. There were no wheels or sliding so made it impossible to use.

I purchased this bed to match a dresser that we had purchased several years ago. Not sure if it is the bed or the way it was assembled but it is very unsteady and the wood is splitting in several places. Not impressed with this bed at all

Trundle bed

Sedona Captains Trundel Bed
This bed is really well made, love the color. Trundle is high enough to get out of bed, no rolling on the floor. Two bottom drawers are great to store shoes. Love the bookcase, lot's of storage and the kids love the cubby that opens on both sides, they think it's a fort.
