Are the shelves removable to add a fireplace?
The two shelves are removable. We did just that - took out the shelves and cut one to make a base and inserted an electric fireplace, ( it fits perfect horizontally) It looks like it was built that way - love it!

what is the height of the tv opening from the console to the bridge?
We just had our 118" Preston delivered and I found the 31" TV opening height answer to this question to be unbelievable. Sure enough, it is 42" NOT 31". A 65" inch TV is about 35" in height as a reference so there is no way a 31" opening could support a 65" TV.

We love our new entertainment center. We got lucky we found the discontinued 4 piece set in store for sale. Only downfall is our 75’ TV could not fit. We had to switch our tvs.
