I bought the queen bed and I have a standard queen mattress. The bed is too big for the mattress and the head of the mattress actually fell through to the floor. Terrible!! I put some old closet doors down on the frame so that the mattress doesn’t fall through anymore but there is a gaping space at the foot of the bed. Completely absurd!!

What the photos don’t show..
I probably should have read more of the other reviews before buying - the Cal King bedframe is built too long and creates a gap between the end of the mattress and the foot of the bed. You’ll also probably need a bunkie board rather than a box spring if you don’t want a waist-high bed. The frame is built with many extra support pieces under it, so if you’re looking for a big clear space under your bed, this isn’t the frame for you. That being said I still really like the style and the wood.

BEAUTIFUL but there is, in fact, a large gap...
The bedframe is beautiful and timeless. I can see where the color and style will work with different types of decorating styles. I am rating this 4 stars because this king frame is quite a bit longer than my king mattress, to the point where I had to buy extra pillows to fill in the gaps so that my head pillow doesn't fall through to the floor. I saw this complaint in other reviews but didn't expect it to be that large of a gap. Its about a 6" difference. I was able to put the bed together by myself in about 45 min. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Beautiful bed, solid and sturdy. There is a piece of wood that is obviously bent and questionable, but after we put it together ourselves and everything the hassle of taking it apart to return will take a lot of effort.

Great looking bed
I have been wanting this bed for a couple of years now. Several months we walked into a Living Spaces and they had a black version on display. I was instantly in love with the black. When it came time to finally pull the trigger, the bed was no longer in the store and I was told it was discontinued. Being someone who doesn’t give up that easily I went to another store. There I was told they could order the headboard and footboard but not the side rails in the black. I ordered the black headboard and footboard and the brown side rails. I took a knob from the footboard to Lowe’s and had it color matched painted the side rails and here we are! This is an absolutely beautiful bed and my experience with the employees at the store was amazing. Couldn’t be happier.
