Once the table is open, can the two sides be used as tables for kids to color On top of. Or do they not hold any weight while open?
Yes the two sides of the table can be used to color on but the opened sides do easily slide shut back to their position. It can’t be locked in place while opened. I wouldn’t recommend coloring on the table to be a routine because while opened it shifts a bit side to side as well.

Eye Catching...
The coffee table is really nice and looks great in our living room. It came with a few dinged spots but nothing too bad. The side handles are not meant to be used to move or carry the table. When I tried, the screw came out and the bracket shifted. We put it back in place. Overall we like it!
