Also, can you describe the finish of the table top? Some of the reviews say it is not real wood and the finish is paint and. It stain. Please explain.
The Chapleau II Extension Dining Table is constructed of hardwood solids and wood veneers. The frame structure is solid wood and the tabletop is made with veneer placed over a hardwood. The tabletop finish bottom layer is paint and a wax stain is layered on top to create the wire brush look.

Table is great. Easy to put together and no scuffs yet even when constantly used for board games with metal and plastic pieces rolling around everywhere. Food/crumbs/spills are immediately wiped up to avoid cosmetic damage so I haven't had a problem yet. Dark color is even throughout the table. I'm afraid to do a wine test though :)

This is the best table at Living Spaces
As soon as we saw this table on the floor, we knew we had to get it. It's a beautiful table that can extend up to 104" which can technically fit up to 8 people which is great for family get togethers.
One of the things we read review wise is that it can wear down over time. To help it last, we ended up buying a can of polycrylic and applying a couple of layers to the table. Not only does it help make it last but it gives the table a nice shine.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase and I would highly recommend it.
