Our Ashton platform bed is completely crafted of solid pine, and when it comes to authenticity, durability and natural beauty, no material does it better than solid wood. Specially textured and finished, this piece has rough-hewn surfaces which occur naturally during the milling process as well as alternating planks that are sand-blasted, wire-brushed and accented with bandsaw marks to create a reclaimed look and feel. A grey finish also brings varying shades and tones to the design, while a heavy glaze highlights the wood grain. The supportive low-profile frame gives you the option to use a box spring or not, depending on how high you prefer your mattress to sit. Read less

Customer Questions

Does this platform bed need a box spring?

Asked by: Alex
This depends on the mattress. We have a Casper memory foam mattress, so there needed to be some kind of solid base. Living Spaces also recommended a smaller option (bunkie board), but we wanted the mattress to sit higher.

Can you use a box spring

Can you use a traditional box spring or would the mattress sit too high?
Asked by: Stephanie
You can use a box spring, but the mattress will be pretty high. We have the box spring and at first it took some adjusting, since everything was so high. We're used to it now though.

Is the headboard smooth or does it feel rough?

Asked by: Jeanette
it's smooth in the fact that nothing will snag, but it is textured, so it's not paper flat.

Customer Reviews
KIT-ASHTON EASTERN KING PLATFORM BED is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit This bed is a perfect height. The headboard and footboard are sleek and yet make a statement of warmth. I like the low profile of the frame itself so it does not overpower the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bed and bedroom set The wood is absolutely gorgeous. I looked a lot of places to find a bed and bedroom set that I liked and this is absolutely perfect for my home. Delivery was super easy and everything came in great condition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful & reasonably priced bed I absolutely love the color of the wood on this bed. I loved it so much that I got the matching Desk Chest. This bed is reasonably priced compared to other furniture stores and feels like such a higher quality. 100% would recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer beware In brief- Beautiful looking bed, but shoddy construction. We were very excited to buy this bed, seemed sturdy and well balanced in the store. Assembled it as per instructions, and about a week in the bed broke. Good luck dealing with the company regarding returns- customer service is atrocious. It’s been two weeks and we are still waiting for replacement parts. Actually used parts of the packaging to support the mattress and bed. Note- we’re not overweight, the mattress was a normal 100 something pound foam mattress. In hindsight, poor design should have been evident from the get go when we were assembling.
