Can a trundle fit under it?
We don't recommend placing a trundle beneath the Alton Twin Platform Bed since it may not fit. The trundle and trundle mattress would have to be under 10" and have a length shorter than around 74" to fit.

Can a low profile Box spring under the mattress be used with this frame?
i.e. 5.5" Box springs under 11.5" mattress.
I’d recommend a box spring. My Cal King Alton bed broke after a year. I had the hunky board and it didn’t save it. I’m 5‘10” and a 160 soaking wet. Not a cirque du soliel performer either.
I really loved the look of the bed but save yourself a headache and get a box spring. Function over style unfortunately.

Don’t buy
Bed frame size is not correct. You will have a gap between the frame and your mattress that makes it look cheap. And then when you ask to return it they want to charge you a fee to return it. Worst customer service experience.

Great style, that’s it.
I bought the Cal king version expecting it to fit my Cal King tempurpedic mattress. Although the website states that it is 75 inches wide, the inner part of the frame that the mattress actually sits in is about 73. The mattress sits on top of an edge on either side leaving my wife or I to have terrible sleep positions and quality. There’s also a lot of room above and below the mattress that’s a waste of space. Looks great but would strongly suggest anything else

Love the bed. The color was exactly what I was looking for. My only issue is that the support legs under the bed frequently come loose even from just sliding the bed to clean.

Great bed- great price
The bed is low profile - we are using in a guest room. We were told if it was used everyday to get the extra slat support or use a box spring. So far the look is nice, simple and matches the hardwood floors. If you were to add a box spring you would not see much of the headboard. The darker wood is also very nice in this design
