Can you steam clean this rug or does it require dry cleaning only?

The Kolkata damask rug is not recommended for steam clean, however, we do recommended a professional dry clean. Additionally, spills should be cleaned immediately by dabbing and not rubbing. Some stains may also be cleaned with a mild, clear detergent and lukewarm water. Lastly, you will want to vacuum regularly with suction only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Rug Great rug I purchased with my couch. Matches the brown tones in my house and ties in my gray couch nicely. When new, the rug sheds a lot and you need to vaccum it 2-3 times weekly. Otherwise it is very sturdy and I love the rug.

Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the "shedding". However, this was not unexpected as it is a wool rug. Just know it has a break in period and then all is great!

I have had many compliments on the rug design since I added it to my living room. It does shed some fibers as others have mentioned, but not much more than my other wool rug. The actual rug is much more of an off-white than the 2 sample photos which appear more tan-yellowish. The photos with furniture are a more accurate representation of the true color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice looking area rug I have dark wood floors and darker furniture, so I needed a lighter rug to lighten the room up. Plus my previous darker rug didn't play nicely with my son's dog who sheds light colored hair...and not a little! The pattern on it breaks it up nicely so that dirt shouldn't show very readily. Plus all the touches of gray and tan and brown coordinate well with the floor and furniture. The rug is shedding quite a bit and I've had a few yarn pulls, but the shedding is decreasing with vacuuming, and no new pulls are developing after I trim the old ones. It's a nice thickness too--so very comfortable, important with hardwood floors in the house!
