9'6"x12'6" Rug-Pewter And Cream Ikat is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not recommend - thin and poor quality I purchased this rug online, as it was not available to view in stores. I'm writing this review because I wish there had been one to prevent me from making this purchase. When the rug arrived, we were surprised by how thin it is - there is no plushness or pile to the rug. (As I recall, it was maybe 8-10 inches across rolled up, which is very small for a 90x126 rug.) The ikat pattern is created by variation in length of the rug. The brown is a thin, flat, almost industrial material, and the white and grey spots have slight elevation to them. Even if the entire rug had the same elevation as the lighter patterned areas, it would still be an extremely thin lug with very low pile. Additionally, the elevated "plush" areas "mark up" easily by walking on it, similar to a velvet rubbed the wrong way. Despite its thinness, we decided to keep the rug as returning is a hassle and we don't really need a plus rug in our tv room so much as a floor cover. Plus, we liked the color and pattern. Two weeks after purchasing the rug, I spilled a few drops of soda on the rug, which I tried to blot with a damp rag. The spill was on the lighter, plus areas of the rug, and the carpet immediately shriveled up and become extremely hard - it was like it had disintegrated! While I could have lived with a self-caused stain, I have never seen carpet react to getting wet like that before, and I was horrified. Now, only three weeks after purchase, the plush areas are becoming EVEN THINNER just by vaccuming the rug - it has shedded and started forming wooly clumps (pictured). I fear that if we keep the rug it will be completely disintegrated in a matter of months and waste away to nothing. I also note that we have hardly used the rug since purchasing it in those three weeks because we were out of town for one week of that! I am vastly disappointed with this rug, particularly as we have had an otherwise good experience with Living Spaces products. If you want to spend money on a rug that will rapidly disintegrate and that you cannot use even gently, this is the rug for you. If you want a rug that can withstand everyday use, choose another.
