Ranger Dining Side Chair - Grey
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Supershopper2 months agoBACKGROUND: We were in need of new dining chairs after selling our vintage designer chairs. These cold chairs were extremely comfortable and allowed for long evenings at the dining table. However, they also had armrests which made getting in and out of the chair quite difficult. Especially for hosting dinner parties, it literally became a drag over time to serve our guests. It required a repetitive moving of the chair to get in and out. Our decorating style over the years also had become ... more contemporary and we felt that the chairs did not really fit anymore. So, we embarked on a hunt for modern chairs without armrests. In our hunt we frequently stopped at Living Spaces many times and found chairs that resembled our old chairs, but without the armrests. One day we noticed a new dining set with the Ranger Dining Side Chair in Grey. Our immediate problem was that these chairs have thin metal wire legs, whereas the table is of solid wood. After a few days of deliberating, we purchased one chair to see its fit. It took not long before we bought three more chairs and are still quite happy with it. The chairs are beautiful, far more practical, but not as comfortable as our old chairs. REVIEW: The chairs are very easy to assemble when the bolts are turned down into the chair bottom in incremental steps. That means, turning the hex key only a few times per bolt, until all can be tightened down securely in the last step. When unpacked and inspected, the chairs can easily be transported in a regal sedan car when placing the unassembled chair seats upside down over the rear car seats. The feet construction allows fitting into each other for easy transport too. Make sure to collect the hardware though. The chair's "leatherette" surface is nice and cleans well, even greasy fingerprints. The cushioning is firm, but comfortable enough to remain seated for a a few hours. The curve in the back is such that it prevents slouching, but is not too upright to be uncomfortable. The chair's weight is just fine to move it around and the metal legs are sturdy so that the chairs remains supportive with any move on the chair. ONE FLAW: A downside is that the chairs features "clip-on shoes", which might get lost over time. These are round tiny circular clip-ons for which I assume the function is to make the chair adjust to an uneven surface. However, when recently revisiting the Living Spaces store to find a low-pile carpet for easier moving these chairs, we noticed that at least one of the display chairs had already lost a tiny round "clip-on shoe". That now bare leg exposed a 1/4" small metal ball, onto which that "round shoe" would clip. A new leg design and construction, e.g., with a tiny screw that fastens these shoes to the leg, may prevent this flaw. If in the meantime spare "shoes" are supplied, the issue will be greatly diminished until the next design revision. FINALLY: Would we buy these chairs again for more; absolutely!

amazing chairs

They are also very easy to keep clean and are holding up well to my small children. I do recommend adding good felt pads to the bottom of the chairs. They will scratch wood floors without them. They are an incredible value for the price. My only wish would have been if the faux leather would have been a cooler gray color. The color tends to look at bit olive/brown at certain times of the day near natural light.

Awesome, Stylish Chair

My fiancé and I tried out numerous other chairs, we were originally searching for the mid-century look, but nothing was close to the comfort level this chair provides. The back support is awesome. Another great feature is the fact that the chair does not take up that much space, but is very supportive and can hold a substantial amount of weight (my fiancé is a tall, big guy). Of course this chair isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely worth the price tag!

These are highback which was something I wanted, since the bench is backless. I like how durable the cloth is and if I want to put covers on them I could. The simple detail on these chairs really standout with my table.

Style Meets Comfort

Though this chair can easily be used on any other type of table combination. It's well made and extremely comfortable. I was hesitant on the fabric only because I have pets and children that visit the home. However, thus far no issues with clean ups or spills. Purchase the warranty - I'm the type of person that believes in insurance.

Good chair, fair price - I'm happy with these

Really has that reclaimed, rustic wood look to it. You will most likely experience some wobble with these if you are placing on a hard surface floor such as tile or hardwood. This is very normal and can be easily remedied by removing the hard plastic slider buttons that are pinned to the bottom of each leg and replacing them with the thick circular adhesive back felt pads that you can find in the ... hardware section of Home Depot or Lowes.

Many I tried were expensive, uncomfortable or just too traditional. I needed something small and comfortable for my space. When I sat in this chair I was pleasantly surprised at the low back support...and love the color options! The simple and airy style looks good and pulls that green color out of the tile on the top of my table :) Easy Assembly! The only drawback is that my bare legs ... sweat on the plastic. Nothing a towel or small cushion can't fix... I love these chairs!

Great Chair For Multiple Uses

I was looking for a chair that I could move around my apartment to double as a computer chair, chair for extra guests, and as a dining chair. I decided to purchase it, and I am happy to report that this chair accomplishes all three needs of mine. It looks great, is sturdy, and assembly was under five minutes. Price is reasonable and I would easily suggest this to friends and family.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Jill8 months agoWe needed a new table and chairs for our family and this one is perfect not only for the space but for our kiddos (ages 6 & 3). Spills wipe up easily and they sit in the chairs comfortably. I just got a seat cushion for their two chairs to make it a bit higher and comfortable, but if they make a mess I can just wash those and also wipe down the chairs. The whole set looks very nice and can really go with any look.
