Product Q & A

Can i use a metal frame with this bed?

Asked by: AlexB
While purchasing these items from Living Spaces, we learned the correct terms for what we normally refer to as a "bed". A "bed" is the headboard, sideboard and sometimes footboard. The "Dean" is a bed. Your mattress and box spring (box springs are also referred to as a "foundation"), would be used with a bed like Dean or with your metal frame. So, if you have a mattress and foundation, you could use them with the Dean bed or you could use them with your metal bed frame. Hope that helps.

Can I use a bunky board instead of a box spring?

I know a low profile foundation is an option but can I use a 2 inch bunky board?
Asked by: Jessica
Yes, from what we understand, you can use a bunky board instead of a foundation (box spring). In fact, I wish we'd purchased a bunky board instead of the 5 inch foundation we purchased. With the mattress we bought (Revive R2, 11") and the foundation (5") it sits too high for us.

how high is the box spring in the image?

I have a 9" box spring and an 11" mattress. will that be too high for this bed?
Asked by: kiki123
I guess it depends on how tall you are! :-) IUnless you are tall, I'd day yes, that would be too high. Our mattress is 11 or 12 inches and the foundation we have is about 5 inches. With the Dean bed, we think the combination of bed, foundation and mattress is too high. I'm 5'9 and my husband is 5'10. (Total height is about 29 inches from the floor to the top of the mattress (including the sheets and comforter.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's sort of close.... The product was kind of close to the description. The color and style is correct but the base is way oversized for a queen mattress and leaves a lot of gaps for bedding to move around. The picture and description led me to believe that the support structure was a wooden slatted design that were spaced fairly close, but in fact it's a very light weight metal with minimal supports. I bought this frame specifically to support one of the new style box springless mattresses, but instead I'll be spending my weekend making new braces to hand my mattress float in the enormous spacing. Oh yeah and customer service didn't really seem to give much care and it's noisy on my tile floor.
